Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage the patient intake process in our clinic, handling check-in/out, data collection, payments, insurance validation, scheduling, and referrals.

You will interact with patients in person and by phone, apply knowledge of billing, insurance, and medical terminology, and work with a team to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for every visit.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service work experience.
• One year of work experience as a Patient Access Representative II (or equivalent) or any combination of experience or education that would demonstrate the capability to meet the requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out, verifies demographics and insurance information, and handles scheduling and referrals.
• Collects payments, reconciles cash, posts to patient accounts, and resolves billing questions.
• Coordinates referrals and pre-authorizations and communicates with patients about coverage and costs.
• Updates patient records and coordinates with clinics, physicians and other staff to ensure smooth workflows.
