Job summary

The East Hawaii Region of Hawai`i Health Systems Corporation seeks a Clinic Receptionist to join its team in East Hawai‘i. You will greet patients, verify coverage, register patients, schedule visits, and help coordinate referrals and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth outpatient experience.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, processing payments, and maintaining accurate patient records while supporting clinicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• General Experience: Two (2) years clerical/admin experience with office procedures, customer service, and basic computer skills
• Specialized Experience (II level): Six (6) months clerical in healthcare/clinic setting including patient registration, scheduling, data entry, medical records handling
• Skills: Strong communication/interpersonal skills, attention to detail, multitask, commitment to excellent customer service
• Typing: Prefer 40 wpm typing speed with accuracy

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, verify insurance, and ensure documentation is complete
• Schedule appointments, send reminders, and communicate pre-visit instructions
• Prepare patient charts, verify authorizations, coordinate referrals/transfers
• Answer and manage calls, relay messages, and assist with patient inquiries
• Collect and process payments, issue receipts, and discuss financial options when needed
• Maintain patient records, manage clinic correspondence, and assist with general clerical tasks
