Job summary

Essentia Health's Hayward Clinic seeks a friendly Patient Access Representative to greet patients and facilitate the registration process. You will interview patients to collect demographics and financial information for accurate billing and compliant records, coordinating with Virtual Registration Representatives and Schedulers.

You will verify insurance, obtain IDs, collect co-pays, schedule follow-ups, and provide cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and updates patient information in the medical record.
• Performs point of service data collection, including identifying and collecting patient co-payments.

Responsibilities

• Interacts positively and in a caring manner with patients and staff to provide high-quality customer service.
• Answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, and refers to clinical team as needed.
• Sanitizes registration equipment and restocks basic supplies.
