Job summary

Essentia Health Hinckley Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic Patient Registration Clerk to greet customers, collect demographics and financial information, and ensure accurate registration and billing data for patient care.

The role interfaces with Virtual Patient Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers to complete checkout, schedule follow-ups, and provide cost estimates for upcoming appointments.

Qualifications

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic and financial details.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and updates patient information in the medical record.
• Performs point of service data collection, including co-payments and deposits.
• Maintains queues and follows supervisor guidance.
• Interacts with patients and staff to provide high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain demographic details and health information for registration and billing.
• Obtains insurance cards and updates patient info in the medical record as needed.
• Collects co-payments and down payments, reconciles cash drawer, reports deposits for revenue accuracy.
• Keeps all work queues updated per supervisor instructions.
• Provides caring, positive patient interactions and coordinates with clinical team as needed.
