SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) seeks a Patient Care Coordination Specialist I to be the primary contact for patients, handling registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.

This entry-level role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and customer service to support timely access to care across SEARHC clinics in Southeast Alaska. Benefits include retirement, PTO, health, dental, vision, life, and disability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; preferred in healthcare support.
• Experience with front-end revenue cycle and patient intake is a plus.
• Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and staff via phone, electronic communication, or in person.
• Register and pre-register patients with accurate demographic, insurance, and eligibility information in the EHR.
• Perform patient check-in and support self-check-in processes, including collecting co-pays and forms.
• Monitor appointment confirmations and follow up on unconfirmed appointments.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments across multiple service lines per protocols.
• Manage worklists related to scheduling and patient communication; support care team priorities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Process and route travel documents and medical records per policy.
• Uphold Standards of Service Excellence and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Align daily work with Mission, Core Values, and Vision.
• Participate in departmental improvements and maintain competencies.
• Support enrollment in the MySEARHC portal.
