Job summary

SEARHC, a nonprofit health consortium serving Southeast Alaska, seeks a Patient Care Coordination Specialist I to be the primary contact for patients and support access to care through registration, scheduling, demographic and insurance verification, and high-quality customer service.

This entry-level position emphasizes accuracy, adherence to workflows, and strong communication in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Qualifications

• One year of healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience.
• Knowledge of customer service principles.
• Basic understanding of front-end revenue cycle and registration requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for patients, providers, and staff via phone, electronic communication, or in person.
• Registers and pre-registers patients with accurate demographic and insurance data in the EHR.
• Check-in patients and support self-check-in, including collecting co-pays and forms.
• Schedules, reschedules, and manages appointments across service lines per protocol.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to SEARHC Standards of Service Excellence.
