Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of healthcare experience including patient registration, scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Interacts with patients and families to provide courteous, timely assistance.
• Regulates schedules based on procedure requirements, physician availability, and staffing needs.
• Schedules patient procedures and pre-registers by obtaining accurate demographic information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and secures authorizations and verifications for services.
• Collects and records patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Communicates operative reports daily to appropriate physician offices.
• Compiles and organizes registration documentation to ensure complete patient records.
• Collects co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolves questions.
• Documents consent forms when patient cannot sign, noting family or nursing sign-off as needed.
• Places an armband on each patient for identification throughout their stay.
• Answers and returns phone calls with professionalism and courtesy.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
