Job summary

Shift: day, 8 hours; 40 hours weekly; compensation: $16.25–$23.00 per hour. No union position; multiple departments such as Orthopedics, Podiatry, and Rheumatology are involved.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education helpful.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
  • Six months' customer service experience desired.
  • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and verify demographics to register and/or schedule.
  • Create electronic files; provide, scan, and route necessary forms and documents; collect payments.
  • Educate patients and obtain signatures; handle pre-payments and payment arrangements.
  • Coordinate registrations and scheduling workflows; resolve related issues and billing tasks.
  • Mentor new staff and uphold confidentiality; work as part of a team or independently.
