Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support patient registration and scheduling in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will greet patients, verify demographics, and ensure accurate intake and appointment processing.

This role involves educating patients, collecting payments, and coordinating referrals as needed. As part of the team, you will handle scheduling, pre-authorization, and coordination of care with nursing staff and providers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Post-secondary education helpful.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
  • Six months' customer service experience desired.
  • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients/residents and verify demographics for accurate registration and scheduling.
  • Schedule patient appointments and procedures; coordinate referrals and pre-authorization.
  • Educate patients and collect signatures; handle payments and financial responsibilities.
  • Operate multi-line phones and assist as switchboard where needed.
  • Maintain charts, documents and medical information; support provider schedules.
  • Coordinate Telemed appointments and recall/waitlists; assist with billing and coding tasks.
