Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education helpful.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and verify demographics.
  • Create, scan, route documents or electronic forms; capture signatures.
  • Explain documents and collect signatures on paperwork.
  • Establish financial responsibility and assist with payment arrangements per policies.
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on balances.
  • Address registration errors or denied insurance claims.
  • Schedule appointments with nursing team and providers.
  • Coordinate referrals and pre-authorizations; arrange interpreter services.
  • Check patients in and out; operate multi-line phone.
  • Manage recalls, waitlists, and act as switchboard operator.
  • Prepare and coordinate charts; organize provider documents.
  • Coordinate Telemed appointments and reminder calls.
