Job summary

Essentia Health in Deer River is seeking a Patient Access/Registration professional to greet customers and manage the patient registration process with professionalism and courtesy. You will interview patients, collect demographics and financial information, and coordinate with Virtual Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers to ensure accurate data and smooth checkouts.

The role requires handling co-payments, scheduling follow-ups, and providing cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience.
• Certification program within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic details, financial information, and initial health information for accurate registration.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and IDs and updates patient records accordingly.
• Performs point of service data collection, including collecting co-payments and down payments; reconciles cash drawer and reports daily deposits.
• Maintains all assigned work queues according to supervisor’s instructions.
• Interacts positively with patients, coworkers, and others to provide high-quality customer service.
• Answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, and refers to clinical teams as needed.
• Sanitizes registration equipment between uses and restocks supplies.
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
