Job summary

HCA Healthcare, at Texas Joint Institute, is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for a full-time, Monday–Friday day shift. No nights, weekends, or holidays. You will serve as the first point of contact, handling calls, scheduling appointments, and guiding patients through insurance details and testing requirements.

You will interact with patients and staff, ensuring accurate data in the EMR, and coordinating with providers as needed to support smooth access to care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• 1 year of high-volume phone experience preferred.
• 1 year of medical terminology/healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling patient appointments.
• Select accurate insurance carrier plans and inform the patient of out-of-network carriers.
• Inform the patient of testing requirements and communicate orders with practice staff.
• Ensure all required information is accurate in the EMR/practice management tool.
• Utilize the system to communicate with office colleagues and patients as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
