Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for the Access Center, working Monday to Friday from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The role requires an associate degree, with healthcare or high-volume call center experience preferred.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing empathetic, accurate assistance and coordinating appointments across UTMB clinics. The position emphasizes exceptional customer service, precise data collection, and effective navigation of multiple systems

Qualifications

• Associate degree and no experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare or high-volume call center.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level customer service in a 24/7 call center.
• Handle a high volume of calls to schedule appointments and assist callers.
• Communicate professionally and empathetically with callers.
• Triages and resolves caller concerns using defined processes and software.
• Facilitate appointment scheduling and preregistration with accurate patient data.
