Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient access representative to manage a high-volume call center, screen and schedule appointments, and ensure accurate patient data and referrals. You will inform patients about visit preparation and coordinate multiple data sets for efficient scheduling.

A solid customer-service background and MS Office experience are required. Minimum education is a high school diploma with 1–3 years of related work experience; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years related work experience.
• Experience with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens and processes a high volume of calls in a professional manner.
• Uses scripts and guidelines for triaging calls to determine appointment type, provider and urgency.
• Utilizes scheduling system to schedule appointments and updates patient demographics.
• Obtains referrals and documents payer information; informs patients of visit preparation.
• Coordinates data for efficient scheduling; resolves scheduling issues with management.
• Triages and forwards messages to providers; responds to email requests within scope.
