Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston is seeking a Scheduling/Call Center Associate to direct patient access by answering, screening and processing a high volume of calls and emails in a dedicated call center.

You will schedule appointments, verify and update patient information, obtain referrals, and coordinate services to maximize efficiency and patient care. Requires 1–3 years of related experience and a high school diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers and processes a high volume of calls in a professional manner.
• Uses scripts and guidelines for triaging calls.
• Determines appointment type, provider and urgency with judgment.
• Schedules appointments using centralized scheduling system.
• Updates patient demographics and payer information in the system.
• Documents referrals and required preparation for visits.
• Resolves inquiries and directs urgent requests to appropriate staff.
