Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking an administrative scheduling specialist to facilitate patient registrations and appointment throughput. You will work with registration and ancillary teams to ensure accurate data capture and timely scheduling of outpatient services.

The role involves coordinating with physicians, ensuring precertification is obtained, and maintaining efficient clerical support for scheduling processes. Prior healthcare admin experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Field of study in business, healthcare administration, nonprofit management or related.
• 1+ year in a medical setting with coding, charge entry and payment collection preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the registration and scheduling process for patients.
• Communicates with registration and ancillary departments to ensure accurate capture and throughput of outpatient appointments.
• Schedules patient appointments for ancillary departments and ensures all necessary information is recorded.
• Alerts physician offices of possible non-covered appointments when needed.
• Facilitates precertification for outpatient clinics and reports relevant information to the team.
