Job summary

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma - GED or HiSET equivalent - Required
• Associate's Degree - Or business college certificate - Preferred
• Computer data entry, customer service, collections and medical record responsibility experience - Preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Schedules, reschedules, and cancels patient appointments; performs check-in/out.
• Enters patient data into computer systems accurately (registration, medical record assignment, visit creation).
• Communicates with patients regarding appointments, insurance forms, and documentation.
• Prepares release of information and consent forms; coordinates information with providers.
• Answers phones and acts as receptionist for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Relays information to providers, nursing staff, patients and family members.
• Assists with scheduling with Ancillary Departments when needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Attends departmental meetings/in-services.
• Requests payments and reconciles daily charge tickets.
