Job summary

HCA Healthcare, in Neurology Texas, is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to serve as the main liaison between patients and practice staff. You will answer calls, schedule appointments, verify demographics, and navigate insurance information to support smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes accuracy in the EMR, confidentiality, and adherence to internal policies, with supervision by the Practice Manager. Experience in healthcare settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year of customer service experience preferred.
• 1+ year of medical terminology/healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments.
• Verify and accurately enter patient demographics.
• Inform patients of insurance plans and out-of-network carriers.
• Communicate testing requirements to scheduling staff.
• Ensure edits in the EMR/PM tool are accurate.
• Maintain correct patient medical record numbers.
• Use systems to communicate with office staff and patients.
• Maintain professional conduct and protect patient privacy.
• Follow Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statements.
• Adhere to Physician Services policies and procedures.
