Job summary

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) in North Charleston is seeking a Patient Access Services Representative to provide high-level customer service and accurate patient registration for inpatient and outpatient billing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations.
• Previous experience with hospital information systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Facilitate accurate and timely registration for inpatient and outpatient billing to maximize payment.
• Collect copayments and assist with payment arrangements.
