Job summary

Responsibilities

• Answer intake/referral phone line and route calls to the correct team member.
• Schedule patient appointments in scheduling system.
• Assist with calling patients or referring physicians for appointment dates/times and to obtain additional information.
• Retrieve and distribute fax information from patients and referring physicians.
• Review in-house referrals in EPIC and verify completeness; request additional information as needed.
• Check EPIC to confirm patient is new, not a return.
• Assist with generating medical record numbers for new patients.
• Verify patient insurance details with carriers (dates of service, co-pays, deductibles, provider participation).
• Obtain authorization numbers from PCP or insurer when required.
• File pending referrals in alpha sequence.
