Southside Community Health Services (SCHS) is expanding as it opens a new state‑of‑the‑art health center in Minneapolis. We are seeking a Patient Access Specialist to coordinate clinical schedules, staffing coverage, and timekeeping to support exceptional patient care.

The role partners with clinical and administrative leaders to optimize schedules, improve access, and drive efficiency and revenue. A strong focus on teamwork and patient experience is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a community health center or complex healthcare environment.
• Experience with EHR scheduling platforms (Epic/OCHIN Epic).
• Experience with schedule-template management, patient access, workforce planning, or timekeeping processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a central resource for clinical scheduling and patient access across clinical departments.
• Open, maintain, and optimize provider and clinical staff schedules and templates in accordance with approved staffing plans and access goals.
• Coordinate same-day absences, staffing coverage, schedule changes, and provider availability with department leadership.
• Maintain scheduling and timekeeping data and assist leaders in resolving discrepancies.
• Coordinate staffing coverage based on operational needs, patient demand, and budget expectations.
• Communicate schedule changes to Patient Access, Call Center, and operational teams.
• Monitor schedules and escalate unresolved access or coverage concerns.
