Qualifications

• Certification in Patient Access preferred but not required.
• Experience in healthcare settings, patient registration or insurance verification is preferred.
• Experience with EHR and scheduling software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify personal, financial, and insurance information for accuracy.
• Input demographic and insurance details into the EHR.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility before appointments.
• Obtain prior authorization for procedures as required by insurance.
• Schedule patient appointments based on physician availability.
• Explain co-pays, deductibles, and insurance benefits to patients.
• Assist patients with payment options and payment plans.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and protect patient information.
• Coordinate with providers and insurance companies to resolve issues.
