Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Access Services Representative 2 to register patients, verify insurance benefits, and collect patient financial responsibilities. The role requires flexibility to work across areas and to mentor peers while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients for demographics and eligibility, understanding department workflows, and ensuring accurate data entry.

Qualifications

• 2 years of healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with professional, courteous telephone etiquette.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data for registration, insurance verification, precertification, and billing.
• Know the patient flow processes in each area.
• Identify process improvements to promote team concepts and revenue cycle efficiency.
• Interact with other areas to provide information on patient delays and schedule changes.
• Verify patient eligibility for insurance and compute patient liability per policy.
