Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks an Access Services Representative 2 to register patients by collecting accurate demographics and insurance information, verify benefits, and collect patient financial responsibilities. The role involves cross-training across locations and mentoring peers to ensure efficient revenue cycle and patient flow.

Responsibilities include conducting patient interviews, confirming eligibility, and negotiating arrangements while maintaining compassionate customer service

Qualifications

• 2 years healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency required.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills, and professional telephone etiquette.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful environments including trauma and sensitive cases.
• Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities effectively and stay organized.
• Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigation skills; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents patient interviews to obtain demographics and financial data for registration, insurance verification, precertification, and billing.
• Knows the patient flow processes in each area.
• Identify process improvements to promote team concepts and revenue cycle efficiency.
• Interact with other areas to provide information on patient delays and schedule changes.
• Verify patient eligibility and collect patient liability per policy; negotiate payment arrangements where needed.
• Assist patients to nursing units and provide directions or mobility assistance as required.
