Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Patient Access Representative II to join the ED patient access team. This part-time role runs Thursday through Sunday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, and focuses on accurate patient check-in, data entry, and coordinating with clinical staff.

You will work across multiple systems, maintain patient privacy, and ensure compliance with EMTALA, AHCA, and HIPAA standards while delivering courteous service to patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years Customer Service Experience Required
• 1-2 years Healthcare experience required
• 1-2 years Insurance experience required

Responsibilities

• Registers patients accurately and efficiently
• Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces
• Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas
• Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters
• Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.)
• Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
• Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members
• Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
• Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
