Job summary

Capital Health seeks a Patient Access Rep I to register patients accurately, verify insurance, and maintain up-to-date demographic data. You will support front-end operations and coordinate with physician offices to ensure efficient check-in and payment processes.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to multitask in a busy setting while delivering high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Six months in Patient Access Rep I or one year in medical customer service.
• Knowledge and skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Special training: Proficient computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Mental abilities: Works well independently and in a team; maintains composure in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and enter demographics, insurance, and physician information.
• Verify insurance and obtain authorizations when required.
• Scan registration forms into EMR and perform follow-up as needed.
• Assist with referrals, precertifications, and payment collection.
• Collaborate with departments and physician offices to ensure smooth patient flow.
