Qualifications

• Create and maintain a clean, accurate electronic health record foundation for the care team.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and collect co-pays at registration.
• Explain coverage, manage patient financial responsibilities, and refer to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality in all actions.
• Coordinate scheduling, test preparations, and patient arrival information to support smooth visits.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record used by all care team members.
• Check in and register patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays.
• Discuss financial responsibilities and refer patients to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Follow HIPAA and EMTALA rules and obtain required signatures.
• Assist with scheduling, reschedules, and patient communications.
• Deliver welcoming, professional service and assist with transportation or interpreter needs.
