Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data for registration, insurance verification and billing.
• Registers patients at multiple locations and works in different department areas; understands patient flow and seeks process improvements to enhance revenue and patient experience.
• Interacts with other areas to provide information on patient delays and schedule changes.
• Verifies patient eligibility and benefits; calculates and collects patient dues, establishes liability, and negotiates payment arrangements as needed.
• May perform cashiering duties following policies.
• Assists patients to nursing units with directions and mobility assistance when applicable.
• Ensures compliance with order validations, cash policy, government payor, and patient safety requirements.
• Escalates potential service issues to management when necessary.
