Job summary

UMass Memorial Health’s Registration Services team in Worcester is seeking a detail‑oriented Registration Clerk. You will collect demographic and insurance data, verify eligibility, obtain authorizations, and schedule radiology, lab, and other services.

This role requires strong data entry, excellent customer service, and knowledge of medical terminology. Training is on-site; a signing bonus may be available during interviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years of data entry experience.
• Proficient data-entry skills with attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills both verbal and written; with a variety of internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work in a high volume, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately obtains and enters demographic, insurance and other related patient information into the computer-based registration/scheduling system.
• Obtains and verifies patient insurance coverage and pre-authorizations as required.
• Schedules Radiology, Lab, and basic ancillary service appointments.
• Collects patient liabilities including deductibles, copays, coinsurances, and balances prior to or on the date of service.
• Maintains accurate and timely records and supports HIPAA compliance.
