Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Preferred: Associate Degree or certificate in Healthcare related field.
• 1-2 years of data entry and/or customer service experience.
• Experience in hospital admissions, insurance, billing, scheduling or telephone customer service.
• Previous insurance verification experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enters demographic and insurance data into the registration system.
• Verifies patient insurance and secures pre-authorizations as needed.
• Schedules and coordinates Radiology, Lab, and basic ancillary services.
• Collects patient liabilities and processes payments prior to or on the date of service.
• Provides information about procedures and patient preparation.
• Maintains patient records and handles clerical duties.
• Assists with bed control and admissions tasks.
• Complies with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
