Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Access Services Representative 2 to collect accurate patient demographics, verify insurance benefits, and collect patient financial responsibilities. The role requires cross-training across areas, and mentoring peers to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years in healthcare or customer service, strong communication, empathy, and data entry skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years of healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency required.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills; professional telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data for registration and insurance verification.
• Verifies patient eligibility for insurance coverage and benefits.
• Calculates and collects patient liability per policy; negotiates payment arrangements when needed.
• Provides directions and assistance to patients, including escort or mobility support.
• Escalates service issues to management and ensures compliance with cash policy and government payors.
• Performs revenue cycle duties across multiple areas/locations as assigned.
