Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital seeks a Manager of Patient Access to lead registration operations across the Emergency Department, Outpatient services, laboratory, and bed placement. You will ensure accurate demographics, insurance verification, and timely posting of charges, while coordinating with departments for patient transfers and throughput.

The role requires strong leadership, staff development, and a focus on patient satisfaction and regulatory compliance with TJC and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Management, or related field.
• 5-7 years experience in patient access, registration, billing, or related medical environment.
• 3-4 years supervisory experience in health care.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient access registrations across ED, outpatient, lab, and bed placement.
• Ensure complete demographic and insurance information and accurate posting of time of service.
• Recruit, train, and manage Patient Access staff and ensure compliance with HIPAA and TJC standards.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Identify process improvements and implement corrective actions as needed.
