Job summary

KidMedVA is seeking a Patient Registration Representative to register patients in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. You will collect demographic and insurance information, greet patients, and confirm eligibility as you support the clinical team.

The role requires strong communication, knowledge of EMR systems, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines, with duties including handling payments and coordinating with staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year experience in patient registration preferred.
• One year experience with health insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately with demographics and insurance information.
• Serve as primary contact between patients and medical personnel.
• Greet patients upon arrival with a friendly demeanor and helpful attitude.
• Confirm insurance eligibility.
• Collect co-pays and balances due at registration.
• Reconcile payments at the end of each shift.
• Address accounts past due at registration.
• Answer incoming calls and forward to appropriate parties.
• Interpret billing statements.
• Participate in trainings and staff meetings.
• Fax/email confirmed lab results to appropriate parties.
• Set up installment payment plans.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
