Vail Health Hospital is seeking a patient registration specialist to handle admissions, insurance verification, and coordinating patient services. You will collect co-pays, validate data, and manage information flow with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Qualifications

• Customer service and clerical experience required.
• Must be able to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• No degree required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and perform all registration-related functions, including obtaining consents and collecting financial paperwork.
• Answer phones and assist patients to access care in a timely, customer-service oriented manner.
• Resolve non-clinical questions within scope while providing excellent service.
• Audit documentation for medical necessity and payor requirements using EMR systems.
• Schedule procedures and educate patients on pre- and post-exam requirements; send reminders and recalls.
• Establish and maintain organized patient files and scan records.
• Route mail, email, faxes and calls to appropriate staff; manage front desk communications.
• Monitor, order and track front desk supplies to control costs.
• Participate in departmental staff meetings and process improvements.
• Ensure CMS, HIPAA, EMTLA, and Joint Commission compliance; share required patient literature.
