Job summary

Vail Health is seeking a patient service professional to support patient care by handling clinical and administrative tasks in a hospital setting in Eagle-Vail, Colorado. You will register patients, collect insurance information, and ensure accurate data in the EHR while assisting clinical staff and maintaining smooth clinic operations.

You will document vital signs, prepare rooms, verify coverage, and manage scheduling and referrals.

Qualifications

• Customer service and clerical experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Must possess or obtain computer skills within 90 days for online learning, forms, policies, benefits enrollment, etc.
• Must have working knowledge of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and collects insurance information, financial paperwork, consents, and co-payments, ensuring data in EHR is complete.
• Obtains, monitors, and documents vital signs; prepares exam rooms and equipment; maintains stocking of supplies.
• Maintains accurate patient documentation in the EHR and scans/organizes records per CMS/HIPAA guidelines.
• Answers calls and inquiries, providing information or directing questions within scope of knowledge.
• Schedules patient appointments using EMR and coordinates services and referrals as needed.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage and completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires; ensures CMS standards compliance.
• Cleans and prepares clinical rooms and equipment; restocks daily for readiness.
• Manages office correspondence and orders supplies for front desk and clinical areas; participates in meetings.
