Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring for an Emergency Department Registration and Insurance Verification role. You will register patients, handle payments, verify coverage and complete required forms while maintaining confidentiality.

The position requires a fast-paced, high-volume environment with weekend and holiday rotation, and an on-call schedule approximately every 10 weeks. Vaccination required per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years related work experience; computer systems and basic MS Office.
• Strong typing and bilingual written/verbal communication preferred.
• Familiar with EHR software and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles and balances due; reconciles cash.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage.
• Obtains signatures and scans/records documents; maintains confidentiality.
• Monitors waiting area to ensure smooth registration flow and patient experience.
