Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Patient Access/Registration team member to warmly greet patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and collect co-pays at the point of service. You will input demographic data, assist in accurate medical records, and support multiple patient care workflows across payer types.

The role requires a high school diploma (associate’s degree preferred) and at least 1 year in a hospital/clinic setting. Certifications like CHAM/CHAA are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a hospital, clinic, medical office, or related setting.
• Experience with patient scheduling/registration and insurance verification.
• Preferred certifications in healthcare access or medical assisting.
• Proficiency with data entry and knowledge of payor guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous patient and guest interactions via phone and in person.
• Create, activate, and complete patient scheduling, registration, or admission processes.
• Verify demographic and financial information; explain insurance benefits and collect payments.
• Perform financial analysis of cases and communicate patient financial responsibilities.
• Ensure accuracy of forms and documentation; balance cash drawer daily.
