Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Front Office Representative at our hospital/clinic in Queen Creek, AZ to support patient flow and the revenue cycle. You will handle registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and communicate with patients and care teams to ensure a smooth visit.

The role requires high school diploma or GED and strong computer skills; prior experience in patient financial services is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Requires knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience.
• Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.
• Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences.
• Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (where applicable) must be maintained for certain Banner Health settings.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect insurance information, verify eligibility, and obtain necessary signatures.
• Verify insurance benefits, pre-certifications, referrals, and authorizations.
• Calculate and collect patient liability; explain financial policies and alternative arrangements.
• Enter payments and charges; perform daily reconciliation and balance cash drawer.
• Schedule patient visits and procedures; maximize payer reimbursement.
• Communicate effectively with patients and care team to resolve concerns.
• Assist with patient records requests in compliance with policies and laws.
• Provide patient services to aid flow: escorting, vitals, history, mail/fax, supplies.
• Work independently in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
