Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required
• 0–2 years of experience in a customer service role preferred

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients and families to address questions and provide courteous, timely assistance.
• Regulates schedules based on procedure requirements, physician availability, and staffing needs.
• Schedules patient procedures and pre-registers patients by obtaining accurate demographic information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and captures correct health insurance details.
• Collects and records patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Compiles and organizes registration documentation to ensure completion of patient medical records.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolves related questions.
• Maintains accurate and confidential patient information in registration records.
