Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Registrar to support patient care by accurately capturing and verifying demographics and insurance information in person or by phone, and by scheduling procedures.

You will pre-register patients, verify eligibility, obtain authorizations, maintain complete records, collect co-pays, and communicate with physicians and insurance companies while delivering courteous service.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required
• 0-2 years of experience in a customer service role preferred

Responsibilities

• Register patients by collecting demographic information and pre-registering procedures.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Schedule procedures and maintain patient records and documentation.
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of financial obligations.
• Communicate with physician offices and ensure confidentiality of information.
