Job summary

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a Patient Access Representative. You will register patients and admit them across hospital access points, including ED and main registration, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information in the EHR.

You will verify coverage, explain financial responsibilities, schedule appointments, and provide courteous, privacy-conscious service to patients and families while supporting care teams and workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED at hire
• 1–3 years of relevant customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration and admitting across assigned hospital access points.
• Verify demographic and insurance information in the EHR.
• Explain financial responsibilities and collect payments when appropriate.
• Schedule, confirm, and adjust patient appointments to support access.
• Identify and escalate discrepancies in registration or insurance.
• Provide patient-facing support via calls and other channels.
