Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record foundational to the patient medical record.
• Registers patients, verifies demographic and insurance information, and collects co-pays.
• Explains insurance coverage and refers questions to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Schedules appointments and communicates test preparations and arrival instructions.
• Provides customer service to patients and visitors, including transportation needs and interpreter coordination.
• Manages electronic health record work queues per department process.
