Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. You will handle front desk duties, registration, appointments, referrals, and documentation with a focus on compassionate service.

In a fast-paced healthcare environment, you will collaborate with providers and staff, adapt to changing priorities, and participate in continuous process improvements while maintaining accurate patient information and billing details.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with reception functions, clinic procedures, and administrative workflows.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain professional relationships with patients and staff.
• Customer-focused with a caring, compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, register, check in, and check out patients professionally.
• Answer calls, provide information, and schedule appointments.
• Enter, track, and manage referrals, including authorizations.
• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance details.
• Process registration forms, consent documents, and medical records.
• Collect copayments and balance daily records accurately.
• Scan, index, and maintain patient documentation.
• Coordinate interpreter services when needed.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and stay updated on system changes.
• Provide coverage and support for other staff as needed.
