Job summary

Anderson Hospital seeks a Patient Access Associate to support a well-organized practice and promote safe care. You will register patients, collect co-pays, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and manage test results and physician orders.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, familiarity with medical terminology, and strong typing (40–50 wpm) and communication skills to interact with patients and staff efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Medical terminology course or background preferred.
• Experience in a medical setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient registration and scheduling.
• Perform insurance eligibility checks prior to visits.
• Handle clerical duties: charting, typing, filing, scanning, and phone communications.
• Post payments and balance collections; ensure security of monies.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information in registration system.
• Obtain physician orders and communicate with care team as needed.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality.
