Job summary

Community Hospital Corporation is seeking a full-time Patient Access Clerk to register inpatients and outpatient testing/procedures. The role ensures accurate data collection, informs patients about hospital policies, and coordinates with ancillary departments.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma and some healthcare office experience, with strong English communication and customer service skills. On-site position with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred at least 6 months experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for hospital services and pre-admit as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations.
• Interview patients to collect or verify personal and contact information.
• Explain billing, patient rights and HIPAA; distribute hospital literature.
• Collect payments and forward to the Business Office when applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with patients and staff.
• Answer phones and route information to appropriate personnel.
