Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking an Associate Patient Access Representative to be the first contact for visitors, performing patient registration, insurance verification and financial clearance. The role includes check-ins, scheduling, payment collection, and ensuring compliance with guidelines.

The APAR will work with EPIC systems to pre-register patients, verify coverage, collect necessary information, and maintain accurate EHRs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years in a healthcare office setting or strong customer service background is preferred.
• Proficient in registrations (inpatient, outpatient, urgent care).
• Accurate data entry of patient demographics, insurance and financial information.

Responsibilities

• Handle front-office and back-office tasks for patients across the network.
• Register patients and obtain financial clearance and insurance verification.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of electronic health records (EHR).
• Coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers as applicable.
• Use EPIC work queues to pre-register scheduled patients and verify CMS coverage information.
