Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Patient Services Representative III to support registration and financial clearance for multi-specialty clinics and the emergency department. You will interview patients, pre-register for services, verify insurance, obtain pre-certifications, and handle referrals in a high-volume setting.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, excellent communication, and the ability to sequence visits across multiple registration platforms while training teammates as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience in a fast-paced customer service role.
• Experience in patient access and hospital billing processes preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, pre-authorization, and financial counseling.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients in-person or by phone to obtain info for hospital records and billing.
• Pre-register patients for admission, pre-certifications, and outpatient services.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorization for services.
• Process referrals and perform general clerical tasks such as phones and chart processing.
• Assist in Medicaid and financial assistance screening and documentation.
• Support team and adhere to eligibility and pre-authorization policies.
