Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Registration/Front Desk associate to support the patient intake process. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and guide patients through check-in procedures with an emphasis on confidentiality and accuracy.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work in a high-volume environment. Proficiency with EPIC EMR and basic computer tools is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates HIPAA compliance and handling of confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in customer service and directing patient flow is preferred.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle interruptions professionally.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR and insurance eligibility tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect complete demographic, guarantor, and insurance data.
• Explain financial responsibilities and collect co-pays where applicable.
• Verify insurance and assist patients with bills and payments.
• Provide accurate directions, test prep information, and facility guidance.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and coordinate interpreter services when needed.
• Monitor patient queues and follow the department's procedures.
