Job summary

Optum and Allina Health offer a frontline patient registration role at 1175 Nininger Rd, Hastings, MN. You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance details, and enter information into the electronic medical record, helping to start their care journey.

The role requires reliability, basic Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to work one shift every two weeks across first, second, or third shifts. Per diem availability is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a Per Diem basis, within 1st shift, 2nd shift, or 3rd shift.
• Ability to work minimum of 1 shift every two weeks.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work Monday–Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person.
• Collect demographic and insurance information.
• Check in or interview patients to complete paperwork.
• Direct patients to their appointment or procedure.
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Verify eligibility and benefits information for payers and interpret results.
• Obtain signatures from patients as needed.
• Collect co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs.
• Use resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in queues.
• Assist patients in completion of information request forms and submit to appropriate department.
• May gather medical record information from all departments for collection.
