Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a patient service representative to support front-desk operations in a busy practice. You will initiate patient intakes, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and handle high volumes of calls and inquiries with professional communication.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience in healthcare or customer service, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience in a physician practice, hospital setting or directly related customer service setting.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to set priorities effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to accept direction and perform multiple tasks.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Initiate patient intakes and schedule appointments.
• Perform insurance screening and verification/authorization processes.
• Handle patient registration and a high volume of calls/inquiries.
• Enter patient charges and respond to billing inquiries.
• Maintain department records and prepare routine reports.
